Memos

I've come to perceive the artistic process as being inherently archaeological: it is the discovery and expression of artefacts from a rich interior world with its own symbols, mythologies, patterns, and grammar

From what I understand, a lot of people's life-approaches could be boiled down to preference for: lived experience ( living for the here and now), legacy (building for the future), and the afterlife (living for what may be beyond)

After my Master's program capstone, I plan to exchange my RGB-lit lab and high-performance production computer for sunlight and good ol' notebooks for a while, and I will be so happy

Bing Chat has proven itself an integral part of my internet browsing and learning experience already. It's really excellent for quickly learning concepts, especially in coding

"Four Thousand Weeks" is so far one of the books that has provided the most insight for me, personally. Wonderful book, and easy recommendation.

Reading Haruki Murakami's "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running" and just discovered that he decided to write his first novel on a whim, then did it within about two seasons and submitted it. Just like that. I aspire to that level of decisiveness and swiftness. Legendary.

I have observed that usually most of my big blunders happen when I take myself too seriously

I'm reading Italo Calvino's "Six Memos for the Next Millenium" & I've found myself wanting to highlight almost every sentence. Calvino's become one of my favorite writers. I hope I can write with the substance, depth, and lightness he does one day

I'm reading Ed Catmull's 'Creativity, Inc' and what I like about it most is how he doesn't gloss over mistakes. I think my dream is to have a production studio telling stories with new tech and creative people. I am terrified & excited by the idea

Okay, I'm going to shift gears for a while and focus on #writing and #XR Development more. I've been too focused on web stuff and, even though I love web technology, @cdbaca@indieweb.social's blog post made me remember my site is a place to put my stories and projects. Don't put tool > craft

I'm really glad that a lot of people have been joining #Mastodon because distributed social networks which emphasize close connection are undoubtedly much healthier for us than centralized algorithm driven social networks. Infrastructure dictates much of our lives -- and social network infrastructure is core to the culture. I think things like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc... have done a lot of damage to culture on a structural level

This is a test note! I'm using #indieweb principles to POSSE from my website to other services like Mastodon and maybe Twitter :)
